Chiang Mai residents want end to 20-year land probe | Bangkok Post: news

CHAING MAI - Residents of San Sai district said on Thursday their call for responsible authorities to investigate an investor’s land title deed which allegedly overlaps the community’s public land made little progress since the issue was raised two decades ago. The residents from Ban Nong Pa Kao in tambon Pa Pai gathered at Chiang Mai's complaint-gathering Dhamrongtham Centre on Thursday. They also submitted a letter to Chiang Mai governor Pawin Chamniprasart asking him to investigate land ownership documents of Wanida Taweeprasart, a businesswoman. Local leaders from tambon Pa Pai of San Sai district show an allegedly illegal occupation of a 15-rai community land to Deputy Chiang Mia governor Putipong Sirimart. Ms Wanida’s title deed would be revoked if the probe found it was illegally issued, he said.
